Power utilities face mounting pressure to accelerate projects to connect large-scale renewable power generation to existing grid infrastructure and improve transmission system stability. Our expertise in System Engineering, Control & Protection (C&P), and Substation Engineering can significantly accelerate High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) and Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) projects. We support the stages of such projects, which need niche skills and also effort-intensive, such as system stability analysis, equipment model validation, Main Circuit Design (MCD), equipment engineering and lifecycle management, C&P hardware & software engineering, and V&V (Validation & Verification)

For our utility customers, we provide power system study services, which involve modeling and simulation to analyze the grid code compliance of power generation equipment/plant and IBRs. We assess power generation equipment’s performance and compliance status with respect to applicable grid code compliance regulations. We built an ecosystem to provide end-to-end services such as model development, model validation, field testing, simulation & studies, gap analysis, recommendations for improved performance, and grid code compliance reports.

Our power system studies team also supports our OEM customers in creating and validating equipment models, performing system stability analyses, and deriving equipment specifications for HVDC & FACTS projects.

Traditional grid monitoring & control platforms struggle to handle the increasing complexity of modern power systems. The surge in distributed energy resources, variable renewable generation, storage systems, and dynamic load patterns demands smarter management solutions. Our software and digital services enhance some of the world's most established T&D monitoring & control platforms. The solutions span over Advanced Energy Management Systems (AEMS), Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), Wide Area Management Systems (WAMS), Substation Automation Systems (SAS), and Grid Edge Orchestration Platforms. Two decades of experience enables us to excel in the design & development of next-gen platforms, sustenance and enhancements of legacy platforms, and lift & shift them to digital technologies and respective deployment services. Our platform sustenance, enhancement, and porting services ensure reliability and performance to a large installed base across the globe, supported by thorough testing, test automation, and deployment services.

Aging grid infrastructure devices limit utilities' ability to monitor, control, and optimize network operations effectively. Modern grid monitoring & control require intelligent, connected, and interoperable devices that can handle complex data processing and real-time communication. We address this challenge through embedded product engineering services for Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), Transformer Monitoring Units (TMUs), gateways, and other critical grid devices. Our expertise in hardware, firmware, and FPGA design is leveraged by OEMs to develop next-generation grid devices. The obsolescence management and product lifecycle support extend the useful life of the deployed critical infrastructure and guarantee device reliability.

Modern power substations and their operation are of utmost importance for ensuring the reliability of existing and evolving T&D networks. We offer a full spectrum of primary and secondary engineering services for substations (HVDC, RE, and AC) to address evolving needs. Plant engineering, design & detail engineering of secondary systems (C&P hardware and software engineering), auxiliary power distribution systems, and other auxiliary systems are our areas of focus in creating resilient and future-ready substation infrastructure.

The rapid growth of distributed energy resources, microgrids, electric vehicles, and evolving demand response programs creates increased complexity in balancing the grid. Utilities need sophisticated orchestration platforms to manage these diverse assets and programs effectively. Digital technologies power our grid-edge solutions to orchestrate DERs, microgrids, Virtual Power Plants (VPP), EV Fleet Management systems, etc. These solutions enable seamless integration and control of grid-edge resources while maintaining system stability.

The power industry faces a critical shortage of skilled professionals who understand both traditional grid operations and emerging technologies. Quest Global proactively invests in and scales up global talent to meet this challenge. The Grid Academy nurtures workforce capabilities and equips professionals with specialized skills that Power OEMs and Utilities require. Our upskilling and cross-skilling programs prepare engineers to meet current and future grid requirements, ensuring a steady pipeline of qualified professionals.
