Customer Challenge

Planning support was required to assist in the development of a rolling stock manufacturing project.

The project was split into five stages and was already being worked upon when Quest Global got involved.

The challenge was to bring activities together in a highly organised way, across all different operational categories, with proper governance put into place.


  • Update an existing baseline schedule prepared in a MS Project file.
  • Then use this data to prepare a schedule (Level 2 ) in Primavera 6 software.
  • Assign resources.
  • Allocate budget units in the Primavera 6 schedule.


  • Proper tracking of the project critical path was carried out by our teams.
  • We decided on a clear central logic that would run throughout the schedule.
  • Resource scheduling was done in a way that was able to be checked against budget.


  • Delivered a proper baseline schedule with the help of Primavera 6.
  • A clear and more manageable schedule was available to all, taking reference from original MS Project and excel files.
  • Proper tracking and forecasting of each activity was available and broken down into disciplines.


  • All project requirements were met.
  • Through collaboration with our customer we were able to deliver the solution on time.
