Not a very long time ago, in May /June this year, a team at QuEST met every single day of the week, counting the number of colleagues newly infected with Covid or those that were critical and seeking immediate medical attention. The team ensured that everything in their capacity was done to provide the necessary support. They were in touch with the families of the infected and continuously monitored the health of each colleague till they got better.
Today the ‘Counter’ is still on, but for a different reason altogether. We feel very proud to announce that, “90% of all our India employees have been vaccinated with at least the first dose of the Covid vaccine.” Efforts are still on to get the remaining employees vaccinated at the earliest.
QuEST has so far conducted about 21 vaccination drives for its employees, their families and support staff in Bangalore, Trivandrum, Pune, Gurgaon, Chennai, Belgaum, Hyderabad, Vadodara and several other districts in Kerala. The vaccination drives were meticulously planned and seamlessly executed following all safety guidelines leaving employees with a hassle-free and memorable experience.
Frequent surveys were conducted to understand challenges faced by employees and many of them expressed their struggle in finding slots, due to a vaccine shortage in their cities. We were fortunately able to tie up with hospitals even in districts far away from our office locations to facilitate vaccination for such employees. We ensured our drives included the schools we support as part of our CSR drives, our support staff and vendors, and also candidates who are yet to join us.
The leadership team has also been speaking to employees to alleviate any fears, worries and rumors around vaccines. We hope to completely vaccinate all our employees by end of September this year, except the few with medical conditions or those recovering from Covid.
While most organizations have been able to procure and provide vaccines to their employees and families, victory over the virus will only be, when we have vaccinated the majority of our population or at least our nearest communities to start with.
The threat of the third wave looms large and vaccination is the best bet we have to protect ourselves and our dear ones. Let’s get our shots and do our bit to overcome this pandemic quickly! Covid 19 will become a simple illness and not a life threating disease as it is today, only if each one of us is vaccinated.
We are in this journey together and we will get through this, TOGETHER!
