Joe Adams of Adams Aerospace Consulting, LLC is a senior consultant providing technical and business development advisory services to the aerospace industry. Joe established his consultancy in June of 2011 after a distinguished 33-year career at leading aerospace companies.
Since 2000 he held positions at Hamilton Sundstrand and Pratt & Whitney business divisions of United Technologies. Most recently Joe was with Hamilton Sundstrand as vice president and chief engineer, 787 Programs. In this role he led extraordinary engineering efforts on the revolutionary 787 aircraft. Joe joined Hamilton Sundstrand as vice president, Engineering & Technology in 2006 after a career at Pratt & Whitney, where he served as vice president and general manager of UTC’s Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne. He led the merger and acquisition of that business, which greatly expanded Pratt & Whitney’s space propulsion and power capability. Joe also served as president, Space & Russian Programs, and vice president, Engineering – Module Centers during his Pratt & Whitney tenure. Joe’s leadership was instrumental at both Hamilton Sundstrand and Pratt & Whitney in building engineering excellence, standard work and global sourcing capabilities.
Before his United Technologies career began in 2000, Joe held increasingly responsible positions at Honeywell Engines & Systems, GE and Rolls-Royce.
