With our expertise in embedded systems development and knowledge of regulatory standards, we created an operation room information gateway connected to cloud to enable real time monitoring.
The customer wanted to receive real-time data wirelessly from Wi-Fi enabled surgical devices and display the information of interest to surgeons and hospitals on the OR monitor. The devices also had to communicate with a gateway connected to the cloud either wirelessly with Wi-Fi or using wired Ethernet. The product also had to comply with medical standards IEC60601, IEC62304 and ISO13485.
The engineers at QuEST Global had to develop hardware design, firmware and mechanical design. Wi-Fi access point was provided for the wireless surgical devices to connect to communication module network and DVI and S-Video outputs were provided from the communication module for connecting to PIP enabled display.
Display frames were developed using QT and cloud connectivity was provided by means of Wi-Fi station equipped within the communication module. Internal memory was provided for storage of data during absence of cloud connectivity. The boot loader was modified to validate program memory start-up validation and ensure firmware upgrade over Ethernet and USB. Bluetooth connectivity was provided for configuration update.
QuEST Global developed a communication module that receives real-time data wirelessly from surgical devices in the operation room. This data will be uploaded to cloud for remote diagnostics and real time support.
