The customer wanted to reduce material cost / direct labor of existing thermal printer with dual feeder unit by 25%, using value engineering techniques.
The team at QuEST Global worked on the VOC, QFD to capture and prioritize requirements and evaluated the existing product (function & features). Then the team generated concepts and concept selection was done with Pugh matrix. 3D modeling and detailing was done after which design reviews, design calculations, and product simulation were done. The project was then to the customer for reviews & approval.
QuEST Global helped the customer to reduce part count thereby improving product variation and assembly time with minimum impact on existing tooling. New concepts met all requirements across the product portfolio.
The customer also was able to bring down their cost by 36% and also lower cost of inventory, parts ordering due to reduced part count.
