Scope 

Predict flow conditions and liner temperatures in a gas turbine combustor

 

Approach/Solution 

  • Detailed 3D conjugate CFD model used to predict combustor temperatures and liner metal temperatures in the primary zone, including fuel mixing, reaction and both convective and radiative heat transfer modes (on both the hot-side and cold-side)
  • Different fuel injector geometries were evaluated to understand the impact on the liner temperatures
