Overview

Car body is the backbone for the train as it carries the weight of the train. So itu2019s a critical item in terms of design. Itu2019s a structurally dynamic item. The challenge that OEMs have is that they want it to be lighter. The car body dictates to the weight of the train and lesser the weight, better the mileage. OEMs are also moving from steel car bodies to aluminum car bodies. That brings in additional challenges in terms of adding equipment as the aluminum car body is already optimized for weight. So, weight management is a key challenge for the car body makers.
 

QuEST helps OEMs in design solutions, and also reading across the design practices across multiple platforms. We also support OEMs in underframe equipment, structural analysis & calculations, crash simulations and sub-system integration of all the components in the car body, apart from end to end solutions like concept design solutions, development support and creating concept solutions.
 

We also manage the interface control and implementation because there are plenty of interfaces with regard to car body. Our primary capability is on the interface or the integration side of it. The standard we comply to for these designs are GMRT 2100 which is applicable for crash and car body.
