Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) owing to their unique expertise in their own products provide a single-source solution for their customers’ maintenance needs with support programs. This need for specialized knowledge for conducting repairs and their overbearing influence on the aftermarket make the engine OEMs dominant players. However, with their own resource and cost constraints in sustaining their business efficiency, these engine OEMs outsource most of the engine MRO as against any other market. As much as 33% of engine MRO is outsourced to different region and about 80% of work is expected to be outsourced by 2020.
