Every E-greeting had two options of either Education or Environment to choose from. An overwhelming response to this initiative not only saw wide participation from the employees but also our esteemed customers. This popular campaign which began on the 15th of December,2008 ran for a month till 15th January,2009. When the final results of the campaign were collated it was interesting to see that people who had voted in favour of nurturing the mind were marginally higher than those who had voted in favour of nurturing the environment.
Different NGOs in the city in the streams of education & environment were analyzed based on their reputation, nature of work and commitment to cause. In the field of education two NGOs were identified. One was a NGO called ASHA which not only provides free basic education to the poor but also lunch. The other was a NGO by the name of SOS which helps many needy students in higher education. An amount of Rs.50000 ($1000) was donated to both. In the field of environmental work a NGO called BCIL was short listed which carries out 'Seedball Campaigns' that make fertile seeds to be planted around the city to be nurtured to grow into trees. A donation of Rs.70000 ( $1400) has been made to them too. The seedball campaign is being planned in the first week of May before the onset of monsoons in our office premises.
This campaign will be followed up by keeping a regular track of the progress of these students & providing them with support and encouragement whenever need rises.
TQM at ASHA
As part of our ongoing CSR initiatives and our continued association with Academy for Severe Handicaps and Autism (ASHA), QuEST has now embarked into a very unique and challenging task of implementing Total Quality Management system at ASHA. A team of enthusiastic volunteers from QuEST would be working very closely with the management and staff of ASHA for developing systems and processes using their management skills and industry experiences. This initiative facilitates two-way learning as the volunteers acquire new skills and diverse experiences.
Save a life blood donation camps
QuEST is associated with the TTK Blood Bank in Bangalore and organizes blood donation camps periodically. The response to these camps is always god.
Children's Day celebrations
On the occasion of Children's Day (14 November), 15 children from ASHA and 20 children of QuEST employees gathered at our facility in Bangalore and painted a section of our cafeteria wall. What they lacked in training they more than made up in enthusiasm! The half-day event was a riot of color and the snacks at the end were a welcome bonus.
Employees' Contribution Program in QuEST US
QuEST US supports the employee's contribution to an eligible non-profit organization of the employee's choice through payroll deductions or one-time gifts. QuEST US pays all administrative costs for the fund so that 100 per cent of every employee dollar contributed goes to support the community.
In 2011, QuEST employees in the USA have pledged more than $6000 towards United Way Community Campaign, for charity to help ensure children are successful, families are strong and healthy and there is a safety net of services in the community, making it a better place to live and work. |
